York College has announced a new partnership with Stretch Internet to provide live webcasting of the 2012-13 Spartan athletic teams.

The agreement allows Spartan athletic teams to be webcasting a variety of platforms, including mobile devices, a first for the York College athletic program.

York College will use Stretch to webcast men’s and women’s soccer, field hockey and volleyball in the fall, men’s and women’s basketball, wrestling and swimming in the winter, followed by men’s and women’s lacrosse in the spring. Softball and baseball will now have audio webcasts available for selected games in the spring.

In addition to live game broadcasts, Spartan highlight videos, student-athlete and coach interviews and various other athletic-oriented videos will be available on-demand courtesy of the Stretch system.

Stretch was founded in 2003 and boasts more than 200 colleges, universities, high schools and collegiate conferences as active clients.

The Spartans’ first Stretch webccast will be on Aug. 31 when the York College field hockey team opens the season at 5 p.m. All Stretch webcasts can be accessed through the Spartan athletic website at www.ycpspartans.com.
